Case Study: Communicating with Colleagues
Hearing Link came to us with a problem. They told us that although their weekly Skype calls were essential to connect their four UK offices, hard of hearing colleagues were struggling to follow what was being said.
We knew that as a charity cost was a major concern for them. With the calls lasting just half an hour they wanted something that was highly cost effective but provided an excellent level of communication support. We suggested that our Remote Captioning service might provide the solution. After a free test call, the feedback from those using the service was resoundingly positive.

Case Study: Conference Calls
Guy Smith is a Communications Agent and Continuous Improvement Technical Officer within the Civil Service. He works to continually improve the communication and productivity of his particular department, and as such conference calls are a vital part of his role.
Without Remote Captioning Guy would find it extremely difficult to participate in these conference calls. With it he can participate actively in every call.
His conference calls take place at scheduled times throughout the week, but some book very last minute. It's essential that we are responsive to Guy's bookings and respond quickly with any requests that come through at short notice.
When Guy first contacted us about Remote Captioning one of his main concerns was information security. It was vital that we ensured absolute confidentiality and protected the information being discussed during the calls.
We responded to this in several ways; the link on which Guy views the captions is encrypted and password protected. The information isn't kept online, it disappears from the website and is deleted from the typist computer immediately after the booking. This meant we met the stringent requirements to work the Guy, and the Civil Service.
A couple of months after we started providing Guy with our Remote Captioning service, Guy emailed us to say:
